Isle of Wight Youth For Christ
Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God.
We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, and in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that the salvation of lost and sinful people is by the grace of God through faith and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

Isle of Wight Youth For Christ is part of the wider national youthwork organisation, British Youth For Christ, and works locally alongside churches from a number of different denominations (Anglican, Baptist, Methodist etc). We’ve thought about it quite a lot, and we reckon that Jesus really was who he said he was...and so that means he’s the most significant, amazing person in history.
We believe that what the Bible tells us about Jesus is true, and also that it’s good news. We also believe that good news is worth sharing, and we exist to help churches on the Isle of Wight share the “good news” of Jesus with young people in a relevant way.
